Glossary
Key terms used throughout Clipform.
Canvas
The visual editor where you build your form. Nodes are placed on the canvas and connected together to define the form flow.
Completion
When a respondent reaches the end screen of your form. Completions are tracked as a key metric in Analytics.
Draft
A form status. Draft forms are not accessible to respondents - they can only be edited in the dashboard. Toggle a form to Live to make it available.
End Screen
A terminal node shown when a respondent finishes the form. Can display a score, a message, and a call-to-action button. Every form has at least one.
Form
A complete Clipform experience - a sequence of connected nodes that respondents work through. Each form has its own share link, analytics, and response data.
Live
A form status. Live forms are accessible to anyone with the share link or embed. Toggle back to Draft to take the form offline.
Node
A single step in a form - a question, a welcome screen, a contact form, or an end screen. Nodes are the building blocks of every form. See Node Types for the full list.
Redirect
A terminal node that sends respondents to an external URL instead of showing an end screen.
Respondent
A person who interacts with your form. A respondent who answers at least one question is counted as "Started" in analytics.
Response
A single respondent's session with your form, including all their answers, contact details, and session metadata. View individual responses in the Responses tab.
Response set
The collection of all answers from a single respondent's session. Each response set has a status: Completed, In Progress, or Abandoned.
Score
A numeric value assigned to answer options in Choice nodes. When scoring is enabled, points accumulate as respondents answer questions and can be displayed on the end screen. See Scoring and Quizzes.
Share ID
The unique identifier at the end of your form's share link (e.g. the abc123 part of clipform.io/abc123). Also used when embedding the form on a website.
Share link
The URL respondents use to access your form, in the format clipform.io/{share_id}. Found in the Share dialog in the form builder.
Workspace
Your Clipform account's top-level container. All forms, responses, analytics, and settings live within a workspace.
